KidScoop News: Coronavirus Coloring & Activity Book StopWaste school’s partner, KidScoop News, recently developed a Coronavirus Coloring and Activity Book to help students learn more about how to stay safe and healthy during this global pandemic. Students can explore what coronavirus is and join the Scrub Squad – the action team dedicated to keeping all our families safe by washing our hands! The activity book is available in both English and Spanish. Download the Activity Book StopWaste Distance Learning Resources and Programs During COVID-19 We are proud to partner with our StopWaste School students and champions, who have taken action to stop waste despite being in shelter in place. We have story after story of individuals, families, classes and clubs who continue to make a difference. We thank you for making a difference in this critical time. In this time of distance learning, we ask our school partners to: 1. We look forward to stopping waste with your students, classes, schools and families, and facilitating the next generation of student environmental leaders in Alameda County to stop waste at home, at school and in our communities. StopWaste works with students, teachers, and school district staff across Alameda County to become leaders in waste prevention and proper recycling and composting at school. When students take action in waste reduction at school, it opens up a world of learning opportunities about real environmental issues and the impacts every day decisions can have at school and at home. StopWaste offers food waste reduction programs through its Stop Food Waste challenge and food share and donation program, as well as composting and recycling services to help school districts in Alameda County waste less food, cut costs, operate more efficiently, and keep valuable materials out of landfills. We also have resources to help students learn the 4Rs—Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Rot (compost, that is).
